  • What are the business office hours?

    We are typically in the office Monday – Friday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. Closed 12:00-12:30 for lunch. If we are not available, leave a message and someone will get back with you within the next business day. If you have an after hours emergency please call the numbers provided on the message machine.

  • Who do I call in the event of an emergency?

    The Certified System Operator is Shane Owens. He is available to take emergency calls. His direct phone number is: 205-493-4103

  • How often do I get a bill?

    You will receive a bill once a month. The bills are due by the 10th of each month. $5.00 late free after the 10th and a $75.00 reconnect fee plus the bill if not paid by the 21st.

  • How do I know how much water I used?

    The meter is read the last week of each month. The reading is based on the current reading less the previous month’s reading. The total gallons used is charged for according to the water rate schedule. It is $20.00 from 0-2000 gallons and a prorated charge of $7.00 for each additional 1,000 gallons of use plus tax.

  • Who turns the water on and off?

    The System Operator turns water meters on and off. Each customer is to have a cut off installed on their side of the meter to stop flow of water to your business or residence for maintenance and repairs. 

  • Can I turn my own water on and off?

    Only the TOA System Operator or his designee is allowed inside the Water Meter Box. ALL property owners should have a secondary box with their own control valve to turn your water on and off. If the TOA telemetry readers, meters or meter boxes are destroyed or damaged you will be charged for replacement. 

  • Does Town of Allgood offer wastewater services?

    No, all properties with water connections must be equipped with a septic system for waste and wastewater. 

  • Where do I learn more about the quality of our water?

    The Town of Allgood provides a CCR to each customer yearly. ADEM also has a website with complete history of TOA water testing and results. 

  • Who oversees the Town of Allgood Water Services?

    The Town of Allgood Water Department is governed by the Mayor and Council Members. There are 6 members of the Council. 

  • Who manages the Water System?

    The Water System’s daily operations are run by a Grad II Certified Water Operator.

  • Does Town of Allgood have any plans to improve the water system?

    New "drive-by" meters were installed in 2020-2021. These meters use ultrasound technology that help the community be better stewards of our water resource. In addition, these meters assist in identifying system leaks at the source. Looking forward, there are plans to map the entire water system and utilize the results to make upgrades to help better serve our customer’s needs.
